I ran this again this morning. I didn't have very much luck with the
tv_grab_sd_json grabber, but the tv_grab_zz_sdjson_sqlite grabber fetched
the channels after about 20 minutes. I fired up top and saw that the
grabber, mysqld and mythfilldatabase were working. Fetching the channels
only took about 15 seconds for me before and the lack of refresh on the
mythtv-setup window got me worried. I was just used to the quicker
fetching time of the legacy SD service
I noticed that 99% of the icons downloaded. I ran mythfilldatabase
--dd-grab-all. It took about 10 minutes, so that's on par with the legacy
method. It sounds like the grabber will only download the newest data from
the server(s), so that will be much more efficient.
The hardest part was the channel selection process, but that is always
tedious. I didn't try the shortcuts mentioned in the Wiki, but I might be
tempted to next time. I don't have a huge number of channels to weed
through.
Thanks!
Jerry
