Not sure how Comcast does it, but Brighthouse only puts some channels 
(only those in their basic and standard packages) on their $2/mo DTAs 
and if you want all the channels to which you subscribe (even if you 
don't have premiums), you need to pay for their $8/mo STB.  They don't 
include "premier" channels (like ESPNU or CNN or NGC) nor those in their 
Sports Pass package nor a bunch of others besides the premiums.   So, 
Gary's definitely right--you should check with your franchise.
