How does 550M compare to the total memory available on your system? There has been some detailed talk on this list previously about memory usage. One comment I recall was that often systems will cache heavily if there is memory because, well, why not - unused memory is wasted memory. I don't know if this is what your seeing? Maybe others will comment? How are you measuring memory usage?
