Leaving multiple and old ways to accomplish the same doesn't do much
to the code. I was talking about the UI. A simple option when setting
it up to the user what happens when you click a track (prompt, menu,
play, add). Just an example of what I mean. How things go beneath the
surface and what is possible there is up to the programmer. He can add
a feature or he can not, but he should be careful in removing
features. The whole discussion as I experienced it is about how the
users can deal with the UI not about if music gets played correctly.
If you look at how mythtv is created with the themes, a lot of this
user interaction should be left to the theme builders. At the same
time making it easier for a single user to adapt his or her
experience.
