Bob,
A MythTV recording should always have a pair of records "recorded"
and "recordedprogram". For Lossless Cut to collect the most accurate
metadate about the recording both record pairs must be present. I do not
know of any circumstance where a MythTV recording only adds the
"recorded" record without its "recordedprogram" pair. That seems to be
an error of some kind outside of anything Lossless Cut is involved with.

At the time Lossless Cut was developed MythTV did not have a reliable
solution for x264 encoded recordings such as those produced by the
Hauppauge HD-PVR. I could not tell you if recent changes to MythTV have
addressed the original issues with X264 encoded videos.

Lossless Cut provides integration between MythTV's native editing and
cut lists and the mkvmerge utility. The limits of Lossless Cut are
coupled with those of mkvmerge. As the Lossless Cut web page indicates
not all recording device's videos are supported.

I still use Lossless Cut everyday as I have an HD-PVR and it works very
well for my purposes. As suggested by the quoted post you may find
alternate solutions work better for you.

Doug
