Hi, everyone. I'm just a mythtv user, and a when-needed translator, and I've been passively following this thread, as I think others do, too. I'd just like to say that I'm also one of the users that find it useful to just fire-up phpMyAdmin and directly edit the database, either for channels or video metadata (the qt keyboard can't create 'accented' characters in Greek).
I, too see that this project has slowed down its development speed because 'life happens' and it's something that is getting me worried, to a degree. But I have every confidence to the devs (which I prove daily since I use the master branch ;-) ) that the project will move to the right direction, which ever that will be.
Please don't give up. I know that constant complains can be very frustrating (I have two daughters......) but if my email is any indication, there are users out there - and here - that will accept the devs' decisions (and the tools they will most graciously provide ;-) ) to manage and fully use this extremely powerful and capable entertainment system.

Best regards,
Yianni.
