Well, at this time (TTBOMK), we haven't seen any mythtv-setup log output 
so all you've gotten are wild guesses as to what might be wrong from 
people willing to play the odds rather than informed debugging help.  If 
you want your paper weight to be anything more, you'll have to do your 
part to help...
