Actually, no. That's completely untrue. You *can* watch all of those
channels. You just can't record them into MythTV (well, you can--just
need an HD-PVR or PVR-150). If you want to watch them, use the
cable-co-provided equipment and everything just works "automagically."

Again, you can watch it...
The fact that you've chosen to use alternate equipment for your TV
viewing (and, more importantly, the fact that you seem to refuse to use
cable-co-provided equipment) is the only reason you "can't" watch those
channels. That means you've *chosen* to not watch those channels.
If you really want to watch them, get SuddenLink equipment. If you
really want to record them into MythTV, get an HD-PVR (or multiple--one
per SuddenLink STB).
I have a cable subscription. I use MythTV for *only* OTA TV
recordings. I have a cable-co-provided DVR for recording from the cable
channels. I could have gotten an HD-PVR and one or more DTAs (and
avoided the DVR charge from the cable company), but I decided that I
really didn't care enough to record the cable channels into the MythTV
system to deal with the additional requirements. Again, all of this was
my choice. Just like paying for a half dozen channels and not using
them was your choice.
When you choose to take the road less traveled, don't be surprised to
find it grassy.
Mike
