Painter has to be set to OpenGL otherwise you can't use VAAPI profile:
For the profile settings I have:
Playback profile: VAAPI
if rez >= 1920 1080 & > 0 0 vaapi and opengl
Decoder: VAAPI acceleration
Max CPUs: 2
Deblocking filter: ticked
Video renderer: opengl vaapi
OSD renderer: opengl2
OSD fade: ticked
