Thanks for the confirm.

There are two settings to consider: Settings|Appearance|Painter, and Settings|Video|Playback|Profile.  How do you have each of these set?

I'm running the Myth 'nightlies', and nothing has improved for the past two months. (I'm without TV)  I apply a special patch, which is rather complex and would be quite an ordeal to adapt to 0.27. (And is unrelated to playback)  I have a Radeon HD 7990.
