Since even the cheapest "cost optimized" HD-DTAs can set a fixed
resolution, if anyone's particular STB cannot, exchange it for something
different (to be honest, the ability to set a resolution depends on the
MSOs released firmware image allowing that, but I would expect
any reasonable MSO to enable that).  Note that for Motorola boxes,
you have to go to the user configuration menu to set the resolution
(power off the cable box via the remote, and then immediately press
"menu"; you most likely want to change the output to be 1080i rather
than Native).  I have no experience with the Cisco/SA boxen.
