Comcast is a huge company with a variety of acquired franchises so your
experience really depends on WHERE you are and also WHO you get on the
phone. For me, my experience was very straight forward and I was up and
running in less than 30 minutes. I've also seen reports of it taking days
to get set-up properly but it almost always is an issue on their end not
yours so you just have to be patient.

The other thing I would recommend is never telling them you are running
Linux and MythTV. They have no idea what that is and it's irrelevant
anyway. If you have to, just tell them you're running a Tivo, the way that
a DVR interacts with the cablecard is the same across the board.

Also, you have to have realistic expectations. No one chooses MythTV
because it is easy to set-up. We choose MythTV because once you get past
the initial set-up it is the best there is and fairly maintenance free.
But, that initial set-up is definitely no joke!

Hope that helps!
