[mythtv-users] MythTV backend on headless Mac Mini (Lion) Server

I just got a used Mac Mini running Lion Server. I'd like to run a MythTV backend on it. I'm to the point of running MythTV-Setup. It asks for country and language. Then the screen disappears, a grey screen briefly reappears, then MythTv-Setup quits and that's the end. It won't restart if I try. If I go look at MySql, I see that it has created 81 tables in the database, a few of them have some entries in them.

If I drop all of the tables form the database, I can at least repeat that much of MythTV-Setup again.

Some possibly useful details.

Mac Mini Server mid 2011
Mac OS X Server Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)
Server version: 5.6.13 - MySQL Community Server (GPL)
MythBackend-v0.26.0-175-g7f71e02.dmg (64 bit version)

The wiki specified that I should use MySql 5.1. Is MythTV fussy about MySql version? Given it is adding tables to the db, it seems to be able to access the db just fine.

I haven't found any log files that report problems. Am I looking in the wrong place?

I've ran MythTV-Setup from both as an administrator and a mere mortal user.

I'm running a headless server, so I'm running MythTV-Setup using Remote Screen Sharing (VNC), could that be causing a problem with the setup utility?

The follow files are created in my ~/.mythtv folder:

$ ls -R1 .mythtv/
.mythtv/3rdParty:
.mythtv/channels:
.mythtv/themecache:
Terra.1280.1024
Terra.1280.911
.mythtv/themecache/Terra.1280.1024:
** a bunch of png files **
.mythtv/themecache/Terra.1280.911:
** a bunch of png files **
.mythtv/themes:
.mythtv/tmp:
hl
.mythtv/tmp/hls:

Anyone successfully running on a similar setup? I'm planning on upgrading my server OS, but with Mavericks just around the corner, I'm waiting.

Thanks.
