Well, I make a distinction between "video" and "film", as lots of people
always have, though many did so subconsciously.

I don't care *what* you do with video, but long form drama should be "film", 
and needs to have motion blur, or frame judder, or whatever term you choose,
for people's minds to wrap around it.

Not everyones; I'll get contention here... but the majority, I would say.

On a related point: the reason NTSC was interlaced was more about frame
rate than bandwidth.  Precisely for the reasons I just mentioned, 30fps
wasn't really enough.  NTSC is actually 240i60, and the difference between
*60* and 24 is marked... and was judged more important at the time than
the difference between 240 and 480.

Another related point is visible when you run HD cameras into downconverters:
the difference in the video from the quality of the camera and lens is 
still visible, even at 240i60; you can tell when it originated on HD/film
vs even the highest end SD video camera.

Well, I can tell.
