I've only had success with ASX streaming with VLC player in Windows.  With
my system, there is password authentication.  I have Mythweb set up with
basic authentication as written in the Wiki.  I understand this is one
problem getting Windows Media Player to work with these streams.  There may
be other problems with Windows Media Player as well.

They work beautifully with VLC player.  Give it a shot:
