...yes, but you no longer need to use things like ReFit/reFind to

I imagine that's so in Debian derivatives) ; grub2 can now handle the
EFIboot/GPT shuffle by itself, and you can end up with something like
my 11,2 iMac, which goes straight(*) to the grub2 bootloader screen
(which also has entries for OSX in 32/64bit flavors & an entry for
winxp (also installed to that drive) - works fine...
(*)..that is, >after> the apple roms play the familiar boot-chime ;
apparently that really has nothing to do with the EFI boot standard at
all, and so you're always going to hear that on initial powerup no
matter which boot loader is used ;)
