Hmm, could be a BOM change. Pity all vendors of devices doesn't do such
due diligence.
I have a Foscam camera where they swapped out the dsp chip, but never
updated the firmware for the dsp, causing problems with high
color/contrast scenes overloading the dsp.
Their fix is to have the authorized reseller disassemble the camera and
flash the dsp board. Those who purchase from non-authorized resellers
are SOL.
Big difference between attitudes between different companies. One wants
to retain a good reputation, the other seeks quantity and doesn't care
about reputation.
