It's a pain. I've compiled libcec-daemon and use that instead of  
comppiling MythTV with libcec. libcec-daemon provides an input device  
so the X server merges it with keyboard input and all X clients can  
use it, a bit like the modern mce usb kernel drivers that don't use  
LIRC. It's also a lot easer to fiddle with libcec-daemon to tune it  
for your requirements than recompiling MythTV.
