With *buntu it is convenient to use xorg-edgers ppa.
This ppa will update the kernel & video driver packages using package
management.
In the recent past the kernel update was crucial to any success with
intel HD3000/4000..
A recent expt with mythtv & va-api on a bottom end i3 ironlake indicated
that playback of interlaced OTA broadcast video was not right..
You can test your intel driver & va-api install with:
glxinfo | grep OpenGL
vainfo
Then proceed to some media player..
