[mythtv-users] Tuner card stopped working

I am pretty new to Mythtv.  I installed version 0.25 about 2 weeks ago on Ubuntu 12.04 and successfully recorded and watched several shows.  I am using a Hauppauge HVR-1600 tuner that is recording analog cable tv (NTSC).  A few days ago I recorded another show but when I went to watch it, it was just an hour of a blank red screen.  When I ran mythtv-setup and went to the tuner card setup section I noticed it said "Failed to open" in the Probed info section on my tuner card that I had previously successfully configured.  The configuration I am using is Video device: /dev/video0 and VBI device /dev/vbi0.  When I looked at the log file for mythtv-setup I only see the one entry which I listed below.  I also looked at syslog (see entries below) and from what I can tell the OS successfully recognized my tuner.  Also, when I look in /dev I see three entries which are video0, video24 and video32.

I searched my memory for anything that I changed that might have caused this to stop working.  The only thing that I can think that I changed was the location of the database backup directory.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can look at next?  Is there anyway to test the tuner card outside of Mythtv?  And how do I increase the log level on mythtv-setup?

Thank you.
