This approach is definitely something to consider. If you can hide the box
in a closet, form factor and noise doesn't really matter. It all comes
down to what your requirements are and how much you are willing to spend.
I just built seven of these IONITX-C-U frontends for $175 each. Only two
were for me. It took a lot of work and patience to get that price.
I sacrificed $$$ and power for small and silent. I was OK with that. Not
everyone is willing to make those sacrifices.
