Try running mythfrontend without any --geometry overrides (or any -O
Setting=value overrides), and play around with resizing and see if it's
enough for you. Make sure you disable, "Use fixed window size," in
frontend Appearance settings, and see what all happens. (The help text
for it is, "If disabled, the video playback window can be resized," so
it may not help with the GUI, but it's worth trying.)
