I have no such problem with my 290e, now running 0.26-fixes under SL6 
with kmdl from ATrpms, but I did have failed recordings with it when I 
used a Freeview repeater transmitter;  some of the mux IDs weren't 
populated by the scan and had to be inserted manually.  On main 
transmitters a scan starting with the HD mux gets everything in one go.
