Thanks for providing the logs.  There was a bug in the mytharchive
plugin in which it didn't reenable the database Settings cache after
doing the schema upgrade check.  This would cause the Watch Recordings
slowdown if mytharchive was the last plugin loaded.  The problem also
exists in 0.24, but is much more pronounced in 0.25 beta & RC due to
some other code changes.

I would appreciate hearing whether changeset
bbd08800eb4f458613f9b5f52698a1951f934e2e fixes the slowdown.
