Initial thoughts: Don't.

To elaborate: Same colour/hue/brightness issues as 1.6.29207.  When 
attempting to adjust recorder settings ('G'), it threw a device error 
and went non-responsive.

Power cycled it (x2), came back up, tried to watch tv, the backend 
(0.24) dumped out a bunch of errors:

Should probably play with this some more, but going car shopping.  Will 
try again later.
