[mythtv-users] Mythmusic player skips first letter in Artist name, cannot find music

When I import an album, the ripper does the right thing.  The player can
never play a track, though, because it mysteriously deletes the first
letter in the artist's name from the file path, so that
'/var/lib/music/Pierre Henry/' becomes '/var/lib/music/ierre Henry/'.
So the player can never find a track to play.  Anybody else seen this
bizarre behaviour?
