   Some useful bits of shorthand are "BluRay rip" or "HD-PVR recording using
default bitrates a 720p". ION types boxes are great for this sort of thing. It 
helps that decoders (namely mythtv) can take advantage of underling hardware 
acceleration.

   Of course not all streams are created equal and many can be played on 
lesser hardware. Apple HD movie trailers are a good example of this.
