This may have nothing to do with your problem, but I once had a case
where tuner #3 out of 4 (across two HDHRs) had become somehow wedged,
and therefore all recordings scheduled onto tuner #3 were failing.
Which naturally included my wife's favorite shows.  The HDHR lights
indicated that tuner was in use when it shouldn't be, and
power-cycling the HDHR fixed the problem.
