There is no special syntax. You need to mount the remote directory on to
your local file system using NFS or SAMBA depending on if the remote machine
is running linux or Windows. This really has nothing to do with MythTV but
is more of a general linux task that needs to be done if you want to access
a directory on a remote machine.

At some point we will convert MythMusic to use storage groups like are used
for recordings or by MythVideo to access video files which wont require you
to mount your remote directories but at the moment that is what you have to
do.
