I think so.

Try applying the two changeset I mentioned in the hdmi thread, this
should fix the issue.

With those, myth tries to set the output device to passthrough, and if
it can't use the device as-is.

If you are using ubuntu, you could try the packages I've made or
temporarily switch to trunk (you can revert back to 0.24 after that
the database schemes are still compatible)
