haven't tried it. i may try it later today (have to go out now for a few
hours).

true. but it would also be nice if, when changing things, some attention
was paid to the effect those changes will have on usability.

where's the benefit of getting rid of the Enter key to modify an
existing cut? it makes editing by keyboard slower and clumsier.

For consistency, Modifying cuts should use the same key (Select, or
Enter/Return/Space) as Adding cuts, while the Menu (M) key should be for
the items listed under "Modifying the Cut List".

the difference between Menu and Select is probably irrelevant on a
remote control, but it's a huge difference when using a keyboard,
especially in a dark room. Enter or Space are unmissable. M has to be
hunted for, and is right next to the "," BIGJUMPREW key so it's easy to
press that while hunting for M.

no problem. thanks for following mythdev tradition of being
hypersensitive and unable to take any comment that isn't glowingly
positive and slavishly sycophantic as anything other than a mortal
personal insult.

it's really nice when users feel unable to make any comment that might
possibly be taken as some form of criticism. who wants to foster an open
communication and feedback process, anyway?

but really - feedback is not an insult even if it isn't entirely
positive. negative feedback is also valuable. it's called constructive
criticism. it's intended to help improve the software. sometimes by
providing a POV that a developer hadn't thought of.

pointing out problems caused by changes is NOT a personal insult, and
it's NOT the same as saying you wasted your time. it's saying that that
the changes had some (possibly unintended) negative consequences.

how about putting some form of auto-detection back in so that when
moving a cutpoint, the default action is to move the nearest
cutpoint (whether it is a Start or and End point)? It's far
too easy now to move the wrong cutpoint (and there's no undo, so
so there's no easy way to fix the result).

and getting the Enter key back would be nice.

i can learn to live with the other changes, but the loss of the Enter
key is going to be a continuous annoyance.
