Somehow I missed your reply back when you made it. Sorry.
I have upgraded to 10.10, and decided to try again to see if I could get this analog tuner to work.
There have been improvements, I can now get the tuner to work by stopping myth back end and running:
mplayer tv://32 -tv
device=/dev/video0:driver=v4l2:chanlist=us-cable:alsa:adevice=hw.1,0:amode=1:audiorate=48000:forceaudio:volume=100:immediatemode=0:norm=NTSC-M
I no longer need to run the script.
But I can't get the tuner to work with any other tool.
With TV Time, I can get good video, without sound.
With Zapping, I get video without sound, but I must select NTSC-M-JP, even though I am in the US. NTSC-M gets me a black and
white noisy picture. Also I must select United States (cable HRC) to get any channels at all. I should be selecting United
States (Cable normal), but there are only two options where there should be three for the US, and the one I need does not exist.
Because of this some channels can't be tuned in.
With MythTV, I can't even test because I get the "Error opening jump program file buffer" error when I try and switch to that
tuner in "Watch TV".
I tried to open a ticket (#9178) on this, but it was instantly closed because it generates the same error message as several
other bugs, and the developers assume they must all be the same bug.
