Looks like USB will have to be the way for you to go, as I do not know of
any PCIe tuner cards that work with Linux (not a Mythtv issue, but an OS
issue).

Check the V4L wiki, they have a really good set of pages informing of the
driver statuses for just about all the cards available. Hauppauge make a
dual-tuner DVB-T (freeview) usb tuner, which will probably be supported.

I'm not sure if the HDhomerun works in the UK. Be interested if it does
though.

Remote controls are a doddle. Go to your local computer components shop, or
online, and pick up a Microsoft MCE remote control with a USB receiver, and
a couple of blaster modules. It is as close to a standard, and most Myth
distos will include it as an option. Certainly Mythbuntu and Knoppmyth do.
They are the two I have used for several years now, and are both great,
although if you are used to debian/ubuntu stuff, then I'd recommend
Mythbuntu as it is based on ubuntu, and is easy to setup.
