Ultimately, it comes to this:

What if we all just canceled cable for a a couple of months.

Everyone.
Really.

We can always say "no". I did without TV for years just find until my g/f twisted my arm to get just basic cable so she had something to watch.

Otherwise, I would happily cancel as part of a revolt. I have plenty of other things to do to consume my time.

All these things we complain about are from businesses selling entertainment (something we could do without unlike, say, food).

A singular concerted effort would have amazing effect.
