Using a terminal window from X, I'm trying to see where I have video working. More specifically, I'm trying to find out if my s-video input is working on the installed  Hauppauge HVR-1600 card and what device it is being seen as.

I run dmesg | grep cx18 for example to see where things are but using vlc on any of these devices, I see no video. I'm obviously not looking at the right devices. Is there a file on the system which can show me all of the devices which have been found?

I have an Hauppauge HVR-1600 which I am using for ATSC and wish to use it's s-video input. I also have a WinTV-Nova-HD-S2 DVB-S2 Tuner Card installed which I'm not sure is being seen correctly.
