Of course not.

All I meant was that, when weighing the pros and cons of any product,
open source is a pro and closed source is a con.  Depending on the
circumstances of the product, it can be a big con.  Ultimately, when
making choices, you need to consider all of the pros and cons
together.

My personal feelings on this are closely aligned with Debian, as
codified in the Debian Social Contract.

Points 4 and 5 specifically acknowledge the practical need for
non-Free software at times.
