I moved from the UK to the US twelve months or so ago.  Commercial
flagging under myth went from an interesting curiousity that worked
about 10% of the time when I was in the UK to an OMG this is such a
cool, amazing, killer feature that worked 90% of the time in the US.
So - in my experience - it didn't work at all well in the UK.

That being said - commercials are much more frequent, and annoying
here - so it's more needed! :-)
