Completely incorrect..

As far as the TV is concerned, the only thing that matter is what your
video card output, nothing to do with having a deinterlacer set up in
mythtv (with vdpau or other).

You could run a deinterlacer, yet the signal output to the TV is still
interlaced.

When it comes to vdpau, the only thing differentiating a video card
from another is what deinterlacing option they are able to provide.

So stating not to worry about it is really off the mark.

This has been discussed a hundred times here previously as to what
video cards can do what. There's even an active thread today talking
about what nvidia card can do what.
