There is nothing wrong on JYA's end, and he is right to be exasperated
with you. I have his 'testing' and 'release' repositories available.
Here are the version available using 'apt-cache policy':
apt-cache policy nvidia-glx-180
nvidia-glx-180:
Installed: 180.51-0ubuntu2
Candidate: 180.51-0ubuntu2
Version table:

*** 180.51-0ubuntu2 0

apt-cache policy nvidia-glx-185
nvidia-glx-185:

Also it is standard practice in the Debian/Ubuntu community to give an
example sources.list entry assuming that the user can put in their
respective distribution as necessary (ie testing, stable, intrepid,
jaunty). His explanations were quite clear. If you don't know the
basics of adding a source to your apt system, it may be best for you
to not be using a pre-release nvidia driver and an unofficial mythtv
build.
