Some boards will not work as well with 4 DIMMs as with a single pair, so you
may not be getting all the performance you should be getting.
I have noticed that with some mobos there is a difference between single-sided
DIMMs and the double-sided ones. Usually the safest thing to use is something
specifically mentioned as OK in the mobo manual. At least then they can't
tell you you're using the wrong RAM.
I'd guess there is nothing "wrong" with the RAM you have that doesn't work,
but its configuration (DD or SD, or the type of chip) is not right for the
boards you tried it in.
