OK, so for argument's sake, lets say that the onboard SATA controller is
hosed and I go and get a PCI SATA controller. Would I have to do
anything special to get my system to boot from the drive? Would I have
to reinstall the OS or turn off anything in the BIOS?

I did try and boot from the other kernel that was in the Grub menu and I
get the same errors (2.6.27-7 instead of 2.6.27-9, I think). Same
results. I also tried to boot the Recovery option for both kernels and
got the same results.

Thanks,
Harry
