I think it depends on the capture card. I believe it will read from a  
stream from an mpeg2 capture card like a PVR-150. Just point it to / 
dev/videoX
However, you realize this means you need to have a capture card  
dedicated to the DVD changer and probably shouldn't even be added to  
mythtv unless you only want DVDs accessible when nothing else is  
recording on the card or if you want to cancel recordings when someone  
is watching a DVD.

Again, this is where just ripping the DVDs starts to make even more  
sense.
