Yes, they work.  You (and likely many/all others) will likely want to

I'm guessing you are expecting defining the SG's to point at existing
material to be enough-- it's not.  You need to point your "local"
setting away from the same dir and rescan.  Yes, this will mean
getting metadata anew.

Bear in mind that it is *far* from complete.  I'm working to get it as
close as possible to feature complete by the release, but there will
be a number of things missing from the SG functionality that exist in
the local functionality.  I've outlined them in the articles above.
