I'm using CentOS 5 so have the old FireWire stack. Does the new stack
(if it works) conclusively solve the need to prime?

(I've long since set up a 99.44%-satisfactory priming solution via a
script I run from cron four times an hour, but it'd still be good to
know that a real solution has been found.)
