This looks eerily close to Filters or theme-oriented Groups that are  
available but you don't want to use.

You can use MythVideo for your movies and Watch Recordings for normal  
TV programs. There's even patch that provides a menu item to move  
something from Recordings to Videos. I don't recall exactly where it  
is because I just do it by hand, but I believe it's as close as you  
can get without doing any theme development/code enhancements.

However, you may not want to change from Watch Recordings to MythVideo  
for some reason.
