Thanks for the comments.
I should mention that in my case the backend and the frontend are in
the same machine. I assume you are taking about the case then they
are in different machines. Previously when this happened, it seemed
to be the backend that was the problem as nothing recorded until we
power cycled. I don't know this time because we power cycled before
anything was due to record.
