[mythtv-users] front end starts but unable to watch tv

  I'm trying to figure out why I cannot watch TV after invoking
mythfrontend the command line output is as follows:

  I know that I don't as of yet have lirc configured, not do I have a
joystick set up either, but from at least one past message this should
not be a problem.  I choose watch TV and the screen blanks and then the
menu shows up again.  There is no difference in the above output if I
try the menu option once or several times.
  Also openSuSE does not seem to have an /etc/mythtv directory, not can
I locate the mysql.txt file, that I have seen discussed.
