I found that by default, you can't get any other refresh rate with
nvidia cards but 60Hz , unless you disable the GPU scaling in
nvidia-settings.

It is surprising that you don't get good result with VDPAU, I found
their deinterlacer / upscaling really good. Almost as good as my Sony
TV
