The MVP contains an IR unit and comes with a remote.  I don't know if 
you can remap they keys, but it works well out of the box.

It is software written to replace the Hauppauge software.  It can be 
used with MythTV, ReplayTV, etc.  It isn't a full mythtv frontend.
