At one time I did have very grainy video on Mythbuntu on the analog
tuner of my Hauppauge 1600. Never did get anything on digital tuner. Now
however, I can get nothing after a reinstallation. Heres my current
situation...

I currently am able to watch tv with sudo mplayer dvb://.

Heres my dmesg | grep cx18, which I think looks good...

I am using an antenna.

When I configure Mythbuntu I go to capture cards>new card. The default
shows "Analog V4L" and "probed info" shows Hauppauge 1600.
However, I am told that I need to use mpeg2. But when I choose mpeg2,
the Hauppauge card is not shown by "probed info". I must use mpeg4,
click "finish" and then go back to mpeg4 and change it to mpeg2. This is
the only way to get mpeg2 to show my Hauppauge card. Then I go through
the rest of the configuration and channel scan works well including the
signal strength bar working.

Now, when I open the main menu of the frontend and click on "watch tv",
the screen flashes but stays at the main menu.

If I configure the digital tuner by using DVB, it does show Hauppauge
1600 but when I scan for channels then signal strength bar does not work.

For both analog and digital the same channels are detected although
analog has signal strength and digital does not.

Any ideas what my problem might be? I hope my infomation is not to
confusing.

Thanks,
Daryl...
